AAABA Field Adjustments Due to Inclement Weather

August 2, 2026

Heavy downpours and steady rain throughout Sunday led to an adjustment to the 81st AAABA Tournament schedule even before the first pitch.

The AAABA National Board and Johnstown Oldtimers Baseball Association were informed Sunday afternoon that one of the two fields at the Windber Sports Complex/Iron Horse had a drainage issue and would not be playable on Monday.

Instead, a doubleheader will be played on the main turf field at Windber Sports Complex/Iron Horse. The first game is set for 9:30 a.m. and the second game is scheduled at 12:30 p.m.

Two other doubleheaders will be played on opening day, as Forest Hills High School Field will host games at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

The traditional day-night doubleheader at Sargent’s Stadium at the Point will be played at noon and 7:30 p.m. Johnstown-2 Martella’s Pharmacy will be in the noon game, and Johnstown-1 Mainline Pharmacy will play in the nightcap.

Note: The Windber Sports Complex and Forest Hills High School doubleheaders currently are only set for Monday’s action. The tournament committee will determine the schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday based on the weather and field conditions.
