AAABA Tournament Day 3 Morning Contests

Wednesday’s early games:

* Brooklyn-2 Cougars edged New Brunswick 3-2 at Forest Hills High School to forge a three-way tie atop the Pool A.
* New York Bonnie Rams beat Altoona-2 Johnston Realty 8-5 at Westmont Hilltop High School to also finish 2-1.
Brooklyn-2 earned the top seed based on the tiebreaker for fewest runs allowed. The Cougars gave up nine total runs in three game.
New Brunswick earned the second seed in Pool A based on its 17 runs allowed in three games compared with New York’s 29 runs allowed.
New York’s Aniel Delorbe had two hits, and George Calderon had two hits, including a double and two RBIs on Wednesday.
* Zanesville Junior Pioneers defeated Brooklyn-1 SAYO Grays 7-5 at Portage’s Haschak Memorial Field in Pool C.
The Junior Pioneers scored four runs in the second inning. Aidan Lackey had a triple and two RBIs, and Matt Terzola drove in two runs for Zanesville (1-2).
Noel Medina had three hits for Brooklyn-1 (1-2). The afternoon game between Altoona-1 Cumming Motors and Youngstown Creekside Crocodiles will determine the second position in the pool.
