Babe Ruth played at Johnstown’s Point Stadium in 1927, the same year the Bambino smacked a record 60 home runs and led the New York Yankees to 110 wins and a World Series sweep over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Years after Ruth, Lou Gehrig and other Yankees lost 7-5 to the Johnstown Johnnies minor league club, local fans debated whether or not the Sultan of Swat actually hit a home run at the Point.
