Johnstown Mainline Pharmacy struck for six runs in the top of the fourth, an inning highlighted by second baseman Alex Glumac’s three-run triple to deep right field, in a 6-1 victory over the Columbus TNT Knights in front of 3,445 fans on Tuesday night at Sargent’s Stadium.
Mainline Pharmacy pitcher Luke Schrock threw 7 1/3 innings, allowing only two hits with striking out six and walking five in the win. Ben Tomb closed with 1 2/3 scoreless frames, including two strikeouts.
Johnstown is 2-0 in Pool D and will finish pool play against Maryland State Crabfest (1-1) on Wednesday night (7 p.m.) at Sargent’s Stadium.
Columbus is 1-1 and will face Buffalo at noon at Lilly-Washington War Memorial Field.
The TNT Knights also had a strong mound outing from Jackson Judy, who struck out nine batters in six innings. He tossed five scoreless frames but was hurt by Mainline’s six-hit, six-run fourth.
