Buffalo Leib’s swept two games against the Boston BASE Astros Sunday to win the championship of the rain-interrupted Altoona Regional.
Buffalo won the completion of a suspended game 4-1 on Sunday morning.
In the afternoon game, Leib’s defeated Boston 8-5 and eliminated the BASE Astros.
The games were played at Iron Horse Complex in Somerset County, about 20 minutes away from Johnstown. Saturday’s action was halted by rain. The regional also encountered weather delays on the opening day.
Buffalo’s addition completed the 16-team field for the 72nd annual AAABA Tournament in Johnstown.
