Columbus’ 17-hit attack leads TNT Knights past Altoona Cumming Motors

Columbus TNT Knights collected 17 hits, including three apiece by Cam Gilkerson and Daniel Gladden, in a 15-5, seven-inning victory over Altoona Cumming Motors at Westmont Hilltop High School.
The Pool D runner-up TNT Knights (2-2) had two hits apiece by Colton Moone, Nate Zinn, Nick Cassell, Matt McClements and Phillip Villardo.
Gilkerson had two doubles and a home run while driving in five runs. Gladden had two doubles, and Zinn smacked a home run. Cassell had three RBIs.
Ethan Schimony hit a grand slam home run for Pool C winner Altoona (2-2), and Corey Chamberlain hit a home run.
Cumming Motors had leads of 4-0 and 5-2 before the Knights roared back with 13 unanswered runs.
Columbus will play the winner of Thursday’s night game between Pool D winner Johnstown Mainline Pharmacy and Pool C runner-up Youngstown Creekside Crocodiles in Friday’s semifinal round.
