Former major league star Al Oliver, who spent 10 seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates and won the NL batting title with the Montreal Expos, will return as the featured speaker at the AAABA Hall of Fame banquet on Aug. 4.
Oliver was the speaker 12 years ago at the hall of fame event.
This year’s banquet will be held at the Pasquerilla Conference Center two days before the official opening day of the 74th annual AAABA Tournament.
The hall of fame will induct Brooklyn Youth Service League alum and brothers Julio Lugo and Ruddy Lugo, who each advanced to the major leagues, and Johnstown pitcher Maurice Berry, who appeared in four AAABA Tournaments.
