Johnstown Inclined Plane to offer free rides to kids, extended hours during AAABA Tournament

August 2, 2018

The Johnstown Inclined Plane holds a special place in AAABA Tournament lore, as the world’s steepest vehicular inclined plane railway with its 71.9 percent grade.

The Inclined Plane is in full view from Point Stadium as fans often watch the Inclined Plane’s cars ascend and descend along the tracks on the hillside behind the wall in right field throughout games during the tournament.

During the 74th annual AAABA Tournament, the Inclined Plane will offer free rides to kids accompanied by a paying adult. Seniors age 65 and older also may ride free. Extended hours and gift shop specials also will be featured during tournament week.

The Inclined Plane will be open 30 minutes after the night game concludes.

Built in 1891 after the Great Johnstown Flood of 1889, the Inclined Plane offers a panoramic view of the valley.
