JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — The All American Amateur Baseball Association (AAABA) Tournament launched a new official website that documents the seven-decade history of the event while also providing information pertaining to the current 71st annual tournament, which will begin on August 10, 2015 in Johnstown.
The website www.aaabajohnstown.org was designed by MASSolutions, an integrated marketing firm with offices in Johnstown and Pittsburgh. MASSolutions previously had designed the Cambria County Sports Hall of Fame site www.ccshof.org.
The official site includes a detailed history of all the AAABA Tournaments, photos of the 100 AAABA Hall of Fame inductees, a section dedicated to AAABA players who advanced to the major leagues, as well as photographs and other historical information about the franchises that have made the AAABA Tournament such a huge part of the summer in Johnstown.
The easy-to-use website provides readers with several options to navigate the site by clicking on:
- Tournaments
- Franchises
- Hall of Fame
- MLB alumni
- Stats (including all-time numbers and tournament week statistics)
Tournament news, brackets and links to Twitter and Facebook are included. The site also features scanned photographs of each cover and results page from the AAABA Annual Report and Tournament summary from 1945 to present.
“We are excited to have the official website of the AAABA Tournament,” said George Arcurio III, president of the national AAABA Board and the Johnstown Oldtimers Baseball Association, which sponsors the tournament. “The site includes so much history, so much valuable information and so many photographs. We also focused on making the site a valuable resource for those who want to follow the action of the current tournament each year.”
“Other websites have focused on the AAABA Tournament and we appreciate the interest and support,” Arcurio said. “But designing our own official website is a long overdue project the Johnstown Oldtimers and AAABA supported overwhelmingly. Our goal is to better promote the longstanding tradition both here in Johnstown and throughout all of the cities with franchises, past and present.”
