The New Brunswick Matrix overcame a three-run deficit to tie the game at 4-all, and then walked off Johnstown-2 Paul Carpenter Capital Advisors, 5-4, on Thursday afternoon at Sargent’s Stadium at the Point.
Gary Otten hit a single to right field to drive in the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth.
Tavis Brunson led off the ninth with a double.
David Bermudez bunted Brunson over to third base, and New Brunswick manager Glenn Fredrick called on Otten to pinch hit with one out in the ninth.
The Matrix will play defending champion New Orleans Boosters in the semifinal round on Friday.
