The AAABA Hall of Fame banquet will return for the first time in six years, with the Aug. 2 event to kickoff the 80th AAABA Tournament week.
The banquet will be held at Sunnehanna Country Club, site of the original AAABA Hall of Fame event in 1994 and eight of the first nine banquets through 2002.
Former Pittsburgh Pirates closer Jason Grilli will be the featured speaker. Grilli was an all-star pitcher on the Pirates 2013 team that won 94 games, won the National League wildcard game over the Cincinnati Reds and advanced to a best-of-5 playoff series against the St. Louis Cardinals, losing in five games.
The three inductees to the Class of 2025 AAABA Hall of Fame will be announced soon.
The week-long AAABA Tournament will begin Aug. 4, with an opening day/night doubleheader at Sargent’s Stadium at the Point and six other games played on fields throughout the region.
