Three-time defending AAABA Tournament champion New Orleans Boosters beat Cleveland B2Bulls 9-1 on Day 2 of the 78th tournament.
The Boosters won one of three 10 a.m. games that opened the day.
In Pool B, New Orleans pounded out five extra-base hits among its 11 hits at Forest Hills High School. Logan O’Neill and Jhonnathan Ferrubus each tripled, and Joshua Eames, Cade Pregeant and Giovanni Liccairdi each doubled in the win.
In Pool C, Brooklyn-1 SAYO Grays beat Altoona-1 Cumming Motors 9-3 at Portage’s Haschak Memorial Field.
Four players had two hits for Brooklyn-1 — Jimmy Perez, Marcel Garcia, Bryant Pena and Teonis Pimentel, who hit a double. Pitcher Isaias Espiritusanto struck out seven batters and allowed one run in six innings.
In Pool A, the New Brunswick Matrix outslugged the New York Bonnie Rams 19-9 in eight innings at Dee Dee Osborne Field at Roxbury Park.
