Mount Aloysius College baseball coach Kevin Kime told the approximately 200 players in the audience that he understood what they were experiencing on the eve of the 77th AAABA Tournament.
After all, Kime played in the 2001 AAABA Tournament on a Johnstown Galliker Dairy team that won its first five games and advanced to the championship round before falling twice to the Washington, D.C., franchise.
A graduate of local Bishop McCort Catholic High School, Kime has coached at Mount Aloysius for 16 seasons and has reached the 300-win milestone.
The Mounties won the program’s first Allegeny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) championship this spring in the NCAA Division III.
