Paul Carpenter Capital Advisors center fielder Raven Beeman took home three trophies after his Johnstown-2 team finished as runner-up to the New Orleans Boosters in the 73rd annual AAABA Tournament.
Beeman won the tournament MVP honors as well as the batting title with a .619 average (13-for-21). He had at least one hit in every game, including three doubles, three RBIs and four runs.
Beeman went 4-for-4 against an undefeated New Brunswick team and 3-for-4 against Cleveland. He had multiple hits in four of the six games.
In the title contest, Beeman singled in four at-bats against the Boosters.
The Tribune-Democrat presented Beeman with the newspapers’ local franchise tournament MVP award as well.
